Welcome to the Ladybird's class page. In the F1 setting there are a few members of staff, in the morning there are three groups: yellow group (Mrs Tucker), blue group (Mrs Emmonds) and green group (Miss Machant). Mrs Witts will also be joining us on Wednesday and a Thursday to cover Mrs Tucker's non contact time and Mrs Westbury will be teaching in blue group on Mrs Emmonds' day off.
Thank you to all parents who have been bringing in water bottles and remembering to take them home on Fridays for a good wash! We do have spare clothes in the nursery but if your child has a tendency for having toilet accidents then it is a good idea to bring some spare clothes in a bag and put them on his/her peg.
We have been very busy welcoming our new friends into nursery over the last few days, they are settling very well with hardly any tears! Here are a few ideas of activities to support your child's learning this half term:
We have all enjoyed our half term and the children have settled well back into nursery. Over the holiday there was a new door put into nursery. This will be our new entrance when the exterior gate is installed and we are all very excited about it. This will mean that only nursery children will be able to access the outdoor learning area so our children will be extra safe. Please remember that we go outside everyday whatever the weather so children need to be suitably dressed in coats, hats, gloves and scarves (named please!). It would really help your child if you could help them to practise putting on their gloves as this is very tricky and fastening their coats too.
This terms topic is 'Light and Dark'. The curriculum information will give you more information about what we will be doing in the next few weeks before the lead up to Christmas.
Thank you to all the parents that attended our Christmas sing-along just before the holidays. We hope that you all enjoyed the Gruffalo experience, we know that the children did.
We have all had a lovely Christmas holiday and are welcoming new children into nursery. This terms topic is 'Where we live' and we will be talking about animal homes and our own houses. Mrs Emmonds has already taken the children into the forest looking for animal trails and we found fox and badger tracks and rabbit holes. The children were very excited. Here are some more ideas to help you support your child at nursery and you can also read about the other exciting things that we will be doing this term.
