Maun Infant and Nursery School

Reach for the stars

Nursery

At Maun Infants, we offer nursery provision to children from the term after their third birthday.  Our spacious nursery can accommodate up to 39 children in the morning and the same again in the afternoon.  We offer 15 hour provision for all children which can be made up of 5 morning sessions, 5 afternoon sessions, or a mixture of full days and half days depending on the needs of parents.  We also offer 30 hours provision for eligible children.  Timings for our nursery sessions are as follows:

  • Morning session - 8.30 - 11.30am
  • Afternoon session - 12.30 - 3.30pm

We provide a safe, happy, play-based environment in which children learn to socialise and gain independence.  We work closely with our families to fully prepare our children for the challenges of the future.

At our school, the F1 children (nursery) are called Ladybirds and the F2 children (Reception) are called Butterflies.  Though our F1 and F2 children are housed in different buildings, the approach to learning is consistent and progression between the two, is seamless.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is a distinct stage of learning when children will have the opportunity to develop their skills through active play in both indoor and outdoor learning environments.  The curriculum is used to build on children's individual needs and interests and they will engage in a variety of activities, both with adults and with independence.
