Every day you will need the following items - 

• Book bag with your reading book and reading diary.
• Named Water bottle - with only water in it please.
• Correct uniform and shoes.
• Active wear can be worn on our PE days - Wednesday and Thursday.

Please ensure all items are named.

READING.

The children will bring home 2 books each week.  One is their home reading book which will be matched to their reading level.  We encourage children to read their home reading book as much as they can to an adult at home.  Three times per week is the expected minimum but even more would be great!  Each class has a reading reward system in place - with the chance to win a lucky dip treat and to take Reading Ted and the Reading Trophy home for the weekend!  The reading diaries are for the adult to record when they read and any comments you think would be useful for us to see.  The second book will be a Gold Star book of your child's choosing.  This book is intended to be shared together with family members as it may not be one your child can read independently.  Reading books and Gold Star books will be changed once per week.

Reading River.

In class, we have a Reading River. We want our children to love reading and understand that reading is needed everywhere. So, if your child reads a magazine, leaflet, shop sign, set of instructions, recipe, birthday card etc please send in a photo of them reading, or the recipe or leaflet etc, we will stick it up on our reading river. If you can’t send a photo, let us know and we will still write it up on the display. We can’t wait to fill it up with all reading information and photos
